Chinese company considers opportunity to invest into Tajikistan’s energy sector

Almaty. August 5. Silkroadnews – Chinese company “China Energy Engineering Group Anhui Electric Power Design institute Co., Ltd” considers opportunity to invest into the energy sector of Tajikistan, Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reports.

““China Energy Engineering Group Anhui Electric Power Design institute Co., Ltd” is interested in cooperation with Tajikistan, including a support of investment projects in electricity, hydropower, renewable energy fields”, the Chinese company executive director, president of the executive board, said at the meeting with the head of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Sharif Said.

As representatives of Tajikistan CCI report, the sides noted the potential of such projects, as most of the population of Tajikistan lives in rural areas and providing people with clean energy is the basis of the country’s sustainable development and rational use of natural resources. In the future the alternative energy integrated use would also allow to successfully solve a number of power supply problems in winter and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

S. Said informed the Chinese company executive director on the investment environment, privileges the investors are provided with, activities within Free Economic Zones (FEZ) “Sughd”, “Punch”, “Dangara”, “Ishkashim”. He also noted, the expansion of bilateral cooperation in these areas would benefit both sides.
