“Mercedes-Benz is still selling more than 500 Maybach limousines, Hubertus Troska, Daimler’s board member responsible for Greater China said”, the report reads.
The Maybach is said to top the range of Mercedes-Benz S-class cars with a starting price of €140,000. According to H. Troska, some customers are even ready to pay above the declared price.
H. Troska also pointed out to the importance of China’s market for the automaker and said it is also reflected in the development of all Mercedes-Benz cars.
The cars are being tailored to the Chinese market more and more, as China accounts for 30% of sales of almost every Mercedes-Benz model, the agency quoted Daimler’s board member saying.
According to him, Chinese buyers want more comfortable rear seats, more connection points for phones and other functions. In addition, H. Troska noted, that the advanced safety systems of Mercedes-Benz should be carefully calibrated to work in the context of China’s road traffic.
