Chinese fishing boat collided with foreign container ship in the East China Sea

Almaty. August 12. Silkroadnews – Chinese fishing boat collided with foreign container ship in the East China Sea near the Diaoyu islands, “Xinhua” agency reports.

“According to information provided by the China Coast Guard and Maritime Search and Rescue Center, Chinese fishing vessel collided with a Greek-flagged cargo ship (on August 11) in the southern part of the East China Sea”, China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said.

China and Japan directed their ships from maritime authorities to search and rescue people from the vessels.

The spokesperson also noted that the Chinese boat got sunk. At the moment, 6 Chinese fishermen have been saved. Chinese and Japanese ships are still in full operation to search and rescue the crew members missing.

“We hope the maritime authorities of China and Japan will continue their cooperation duly to solve this unexpected situation arisen”, Hua Chunying added.
