Chinese giant JD.com opens its office in Paris

Beijing. January 24. Silkroadnews - Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com opens office in Paris, “People’s Daily” newspaper reports.
“JD.com, one of Chinese e-commerce giants, has announced the opening of its Paris office, as well as the appointment of Florent Courau as Managing Director for JD.com in France,” the report said.
For JD.com opening of the office in France is an important milestone, as the e-commerce platform seeks to develop its French brand and strengthen its European presence. The Paris office will help JD.com to improve its relationship with existing and potential brand partners in the fast-growing areas of luxury goods, fashion, cosmetics, food, wine and spirits.
A French presence will help the company better understand its French partners who seek to access 266.3 million active Chinese consumers on JD.com.
The Paris office opening comes shortly after JD.com announced an ambitious agreement with Business France, the country’s official trade promotion agency, to sell French goods worth 2 billion euros ($2.44 billion) to Chinese consumers over the next two years.
JD.com also recently announced a partnership with the French industrial giant FIVES on the acquisition of French industrial goods for 100 million euros.
