Chinese investors to invest $300 million in wheat straw processing plant construction

Almaty. May 30. Silkroadnews – A delegation of the Chinese company “Anhui Geyi Biorefineries Industrial Park Ltd” and a number of machine-building enterprises visited the Esil district of the Akmola region, KazTAG reported.
“The guests considered the option of investment project for biological mass, in particular wheat straw, processing enterprise construction with 500 thousand tonnes of annual output on the territory of the Yesil district. The total investment cost is around $300 million, the Chinese side undertakes to invest the entire amount”, the akimat press-release said.
The enterprise’s designed capacity will allow producing about 10 million tonnes of organic liquid and solid fertilizers per year, 5 000 cubic meters of methane, which, in turn, will make it possible to produce 120 million kW of electricity and 70 000 tonnes of biochemical lignin (valuable chemical raw materials used in many industries and medicine), which can be exported to Europe and China.
The plant can also ensure production of 20 thousand tonnes of high-quality paper or 200 thousand tons of cardboard per year through cellulose processing.
