Chinese police started patrolling streets of Italian cities

Almaty. May 4. Silkroadnews – On May 2 Rome hosted the first joint patrolling of the Italian and Chinese police, “People’s Daily” reports.

Thus, according to the publication, starting from May 2, four police officers from China, together with their Italian counterparts, began to patrol the streets of Rome and Milan, assist to solve various problems related to the Chinese tourists in Italy, protect their interests and assist in the Chinese tourists’ appeals to the Italian police.

Italian Minister of the Interior Angelino Alfano said at the press conference such “joint operation” is carried out to help the Chinese tourists to feel safe in Italy. The main task of the Chinese police is to assist and give advice to fellow citizens who face any difficulties.

A. Alfano also noted that it is the first time when the Chinese police carries out such tasks in Europe. The Italian police officers, accordingly, also plan to go to Beijing and Shanghai soon to perform similar tasks, helping their fellow citizens.
