Chinese President arrives in Hanoi for state visit
Almaty. November 13. Silkroadnews - The President of China arrived in Hanoi for a state visit, “People’s Daily” reported.
“President Xi Jinping, who is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, arrived in the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi on Sunday for a state visit,” the report said.
It is noted that this is the second visit of Xi to Vietnam as China’s head of state and leader of the Communist Party.
During his stay in Hanoi, China’s president will hold talks with the Secretary-General of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong and meet with Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang and the Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.
“The leaders of the two countries will have in-depth talks on promoting the relations between the two countries under the new circumstances,” the agency quoted Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Hong Xiaoyong saying.
Data shows an increase in trade observed between two states over the past few years. Statistics says China is Vietnam’s biggest trading partner for 13 consecutive years, and Vietnam is China’s largest trading partner in Southeast Asia.
In 2016, bilateral trade volume reached $98.23 billion. It is expected that by the end of this year the volume will reach $100 billion.
In the first quarter of 2017, China invested in Vietnam a total of $823.6 million, becoming the third largest foreign direct investor in the country.
Vietnam is the first country of the Asian tour of Xi in Asia, on Monday the president of the PRC will go to Laos.
