Chinese quarantine service warned tourists about the danger of infection with "camel flu"

Almaty. September 6. Silkroadnews – The Chinese quarantine service warned tourists about the danger of “camel flu”, China Daily reported.
“Chinese quarantine on Tuesday issued a notice alerting travelers to the Middle East to guard against camel flu. The virus, Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), is a respiratory disease that has killed hundreds of people”, the publication reads.
It is noted that the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China recommended people traveling to the Middle East to follow hygiene rules, avoid contact with people who have symptoms of the disease, and avoid contact with animals.
In addition, all those who return from regions with MERS outbreaks should contact quarantine services in case of a fever, coughing, or breathing problems.
According to the World Health Organization, as of August 28, there were 2067 laboratory-confirmed cases of MERS infection, including at least 720 deaths.
“The organization expects additional cases of infection to be reported from the Middle East, and that cases will continue to be exported to other countries by individuals catching the disease after exposure to animals or animal products”, report says.
