Chinghiz Aitmatov monument unveiled in Ankara

Bishkek. June 5. Silkroadnews – Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev took part in the unveiling of Chinghiz Aitmatov monument in Ankara. President Atambayev participated in this event dedicated to the renowned Kyrgyz author within the framework of his official visit to Turkey.
President’s speech highlighted the fact that Chinghiz Aitmatov is a prominent public figure for the entire Turkic World.
“The literary talent of this great writer is a common cultural heritage. UNESCO estimated Chinghiz Aitmatov to be one of the most read authors of modern times. His books have been translated to 176 different languages and published in over 128 countries. The cumulative number of published copies exceeds 100 mln”, President Atambayev noticed.
