Almaty. October 19. Silkroadnews - The city of Shenzhen in the south of China launches a pilot project to attract talented workers, the economic portal Yicai Global reports.
“The first-tier city of Shenzhen in China’s southern Guangdong province will implement new policies aimed at opening the city up to more talented workers from around the world,” the report said.
It is noted that the city strives to become a center for talented people in the scientific and technical fields by 2030, similar to Silicon Valley and Israel.
It is reported that Shenzhen will push for national support for the program, which will include simplification of the processes related to applications for a residence permit for foreign workers and work visas. It is also planned to build from three to five special schools for expatriate children in the city.
According to the publication, over the next decade the city will build at least 300,000 houses for talented migrants and continuously improve the solution of social issues, such as medical services.
Shenzhen aims to attract intellectual elite - about 100 of the most talented professionals, including scientists and Nobel Prize winners, both from China and abroad, and 100 other talented high-level specialists, including strategic scientists, entrepreneurs and investors.
Local authorities also seek to attract more than 15,000 highly talented people from China and abroad and more than 200 innovative and entrepreneurial teams of the highest level.
