Construction of the largest in Central Asia $100-million-worth mosque to be completed in Dushanbe before the end of July

Almaty. July 20. Silkroadnews – Before the end of this month construction of the largest mosque in Central Asia shall be completed in Dushanbe, Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reported on Wednesday.

“Construction of the Dushanbe mosque is expected to be completed until the end of July”, chairman of the Committee of Architecture and Construction under Tajikistan’s government Jamshed Ahmadzoda said at the press conference.

It can accommodate 115 thousand visitors and will be the largest in Central Asia. The costs of the works carried out by the project contractor stands at more than $39.2 million.

“Construction work will be completed before the end of this month. Now the time came for decoration works and improvement of territory,” he added.

Works on the mosque construction began in October 2011.

The cost of the project is $100 million, 70% are financed by Qatar and 30% by Tajikistan.
