CSTO Council approved the 2025 CSTO Collective Security Strategy

Almaty. October 17. Silkroadnews – The participants of the CSTO Council meeting held in Yerevan on Friday agreed on a list of additional measures to combat international terrorism and approved the 2025 CSTO Collective Security Strategy, Russian media reported.

Along with the 2025 CSTO Collective Security Strategy the documents signed following the session of the CSTO Collective Security Council approved the Regulations on the Common list of organizations recognized as the terrorist ones.

The heads of the CSTO member states have adopted the statements on the impact of unilateral actions for the deployment of a global missile defense system on international security and stability, on the interaction of the CSTO member states in the field of border security, heard the report by the CSTO Secretary General and decided on the CSTO Crisis Response Center.

In addition, during the meeting of the Council the decisions have been taken on the Concept of standardization of weapons and military equipment within the organization and on the Concept of development of the system of joint military personnel training for the armed forces of the CSTO member states until 2020.

Among the other decisions by the Council there are also the protocol on the establishment of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Force military contingents and report on their units and deployment, as well as the decision on the CSTO response in emergency, the decision on the organization’s budget for 2017 and the protocol decision on the next Council session time and place.

The question of the new secretary general of the CSTO will be discussed at the summit in St. Petersburg at the end of the year.

The next meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council will be held in Belarus in 2017.

To remind, the CSTO has been formed by Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.
