Customs Union countries want to create an analogue of the SWIFT system
Almaty. October 24. Silkroadnews - Countries of the Customs Union (Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan) at the level of central banks discussed the possibility of creating its counterpart of the international interbank SWIFT system of information exchange, reports the newspaper "Izvestia".
"Belarus uses the system SWIFT, as well as Russia and Kazakhstan. But this does not mean that we should not have any other interaction channels that are controlled by us and are comfortable with the point of view of safety of payment information",- the newspaper quoted the deputy chairman of the National Bank of Belarus Sergei Dubkov.
He added that the central banks of the three countries are also working on the integration of national payment systems, "to create in Russia and Kazakhstan national payment systems and BelCard interact, and that the service is provided to both citizens and businesses".
According to him, the integration of national payment systems is not limited to the unification of systems of bank payment cards. It is necessary to organize interbank cooperation, in other words, to create a version of the international system of data transfer and make payments through SWIFT, stressed S.Dubkov.
