Beijing. April 2. Silkroadnews - The daily limit of 500 yuan is set for payments on static QR codes and up to 5,000 yuan for dynamic codes via the Chinese messenger WeChat, China Plus reports.
Static codes are commonly used by the street vendors and small stores where the customer scans a printed QR code for payment. But printed QR codes are often easily replaced by fraudulent ones. China’s Payment and Clearing Association states that since customers use static codes for small purchases such as buying vegetables, fruits and snacks, a limit of 500 yuan is enough to meet daily needs.
Daily limits when using dynamic codes - codes generated on users’ smartphones, which sellers can scan - vary depending on the method of checking payment on the spot. Some users do not have a daily limit, while others are limited to 1000 or 5000 yuan per day.
Users who want to delete the daily transaction limits of WeChat must add a digital certificate, an electronic visa and a fingerprint or password to their account. If users have a combination of two security systems added to their account - a combination of password, SMS confirmation code or fingerprint - they can access the daily limit of 5,000 yuan. Users with only one of the security measures in place are limited to 1000 yuan per day.
