Despite anti-globalization China stands for construction of an East Asia Economic Community

Almaty. November 15. Silkroadnews - China supports promotion of an East Asia Economic Community, despite the anti-globalization, Xinhua news agency reported.
“China proposes to advance the construction of an East Asia Economic Community so as to promote regional integration and common development, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said,” the report reads.
It is noted that addressing the leaders of the countries taking part in the 20th ASEAN summit, Li said East Asia has experienced a storm of two financial crises and is now one of the most dynamic and promising regions of the world in terms of development.
He noted that last year, East Asia accounted for 44% of the world’s economic growth.
Creation of an East Asia Economic Community is a strategic goal of the cooperation of the ASEAN countries and meeting the long-term and fundamental interests of the peoples in this region, China’s prime minister said.
According to Li, with sentiments growing against globalization and trade protectionism around the world, it is time to insist on building such a community in East Asia to make the region an important engine to restore the global economy.
