DPRK invited U.S. to invest into republic’s tourism industry
Beijing. June 5. Silkroadnews - The DPRK invited the U.S. to invest into the republic’s tourism industry, the Kazakh Telegraph Agency (KazTAG) writes with reference to TASS.
Kim Yong Chol, the head of the united front department of the DPRK Labor Party, who visited the United States earlier, called on the American side to invest into the republic’s tourism industry, the South Korean newspaper The Dong-a Ilbo reported, citing a diplomatic source on Tuesday.
According to the publication, during a meeting with the U.S. President Donald Tramp Kim Yong Chol, in particular, spoke about the authorities’ plans to create a world-class resort in Wonsan.
Reportedly, during the visit, the representative of the DPRK also studied the possibility of gradual lifting of international sanctions against Pyongyang in exchange for efforts aimed at denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.
Currently, Washington and Pyongyang are preparing for a meeting between the U.S. President D.Trump and the leader of the DPRK Kim Jong-un scheduled to be held in Singapore on June 12. On June 1, the delegation of the DPRK, led by Kim Yong Chol arrived in the U.S. capital and delivered a letter from Kim Jong-un to D. Trump.
