EEU and China negotiated on trade and economic cooperation agreement

Almaty. October 3. Silkroadnews – A joint statement of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) and China’s Commerce Ministry on completion of negotiations on trade and economic cooperation agreement was signed in Hangzhou, China, on October 1, the Kazakh Telegraph Agency (KazTAG) reported referring to the EEC press service.
“The Union and China agreed to carry out legal and technical editing of the agreement text within the near future to start implementing internal procedures required for the document to be signed,” the report said.
The agreement on trade and economic cooperation between the EEU and China is said to be a historic event for all the parties involved. It is the first move towards building a mechanism for the effective and long-term cooperation between the Eurasian Union and China and will serve as an incentive for the development of trade relations between the union member states and China, the agency quoted the head of the EEC, EEU trade board member (minister), Veronika Nikishina.
The parties have noted, the talks have been held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere allowing to complete the negotiation within a year. Both the EEU and China intend to use the agreement to boost the mutual trade and raise the trade and economic relations up to the new level, the report reads.
