EEU states prepare agreement on national driving licenses recognition
Almaty. July 14. Silkroadnews – The Eurasian Economic Union member states will prepare an agreement on recognition of national driving licenses, chairman of the EEC council, vice-prime minister of Kyrgyzstan Oleg Pankratov told journalists following the meeting of the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) in Moscow on Thursday, KazTAG reports with reference to BelTA.
According to O. Pankratov, the agreement will determine rules for mutual recognition of national and international driving licenses throughout the territory of the EEU states.
He also noted, the issue arose due to legislative changes coming into force in Russia to restrict use of national and international driving licenses by foreign citizens when carrying out entrepreneurial activities or working as an employee in the territory of the Russian Federation.
“To avoid contradictions to the EEU current approaches, the issue is agreed to be regulated with a separate agreement”, O. Pankratov said.
