EU to allocate 50 million euro to strengthen food security in Tajikistan

Almaty. July 20. Silkroadnews - Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the European Union (EU), together with other countries will help to strengthen food security in Tajikistan, says Tajik news agency (TajikTA) on Monday.
In this initiative, the European Union will allocate 50 million euros, and the FAO - 23,5 million euros.
As noted, in spite of the progress made in recent decades, some 800 million people around the world remain hungry.
In recent years, an increasing number of people faced food crises, which are often the result of conflict, natural disasters, climate change or food price volatility.
