Europe is restoring economic ties with Iran - media

Almaty. November 30. Silkroadnews - Europe establishes economic ties with Iran, the newspaper "Vedomosti".
"Italy has sent a large delegation to Iran to restore the historical economic ties. Now European companies have an advantage over competitors from the United States because of the strong anti-American sentiment in Iran",- says the publication.
On Saturday, in Tehran arrived about 300 representatives of Italian companies engaged in medical, automotive, construction business and industrial equipment. Following the meeting, Iran has offered to foreign investors about 50 oil and gas projects worth more than $25 billion. As well as a new type of oil contracts: their duration is designed for 20 years, renewable for another five. But financing of projects will meet the foreign investor.
Also, the publication points out that Tehran has received several trade delegations from Europe since signed an agreement on its nuclear program with the "six" in July.
The Iranian conservatives oppose rapprochement with the Americans because of fears that Washington will try to provide the country's political and cultural influence, the newspaper said.
The likely absence of US companies opens the way to European competitors. For Italy, the entry to Iran is important in terms of increasing exports. But hostility to the United States could push many leading companies wishing to enter the Iranian market, according to some Western businessmen. Large banks are unlikely to offer financing to potential investors, until they are confident that the United States is also in the game.
While in Iran, hoping that small banks, such as Germany or Italy, compensate for the absence of leading lenders, the article says.
