Almaty. October 9. Silkroadnews - Europe needs to abandon sanctions against Russia, says the president of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
"Europe should not continue to maintain sanctions against Russia. These sanctions were ineffectual politically. Look at Russia's past - it is a strong country. And sanctions can not make it abandon from its policy", - said Nazabayev in an interview with French newspaper Le Figaro.
He noted that the sanctions only affect the employees of the Russian SME and French breeders.
According to Nursultan Nazarbayev, the sanctions against Russia also indirectly influence on Kazakhstan.
"Speaking about the Ukrainian issue and the Minsk agreements, Nazarbayev said that "to resolve the crisis is not yet possible", because of the position of Kiev. He recalled that adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of the law on the special status of certain areas of Donbass "has never entered into force", and the president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko "refuses to open direct dialogue" with representatives of the affirmed Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republic", - says the publication .
Here Nazarbayev called on France to make every effort to obstruct an escalation of tensions in the zone of Ukrainian conflict.
