For 13 years, the population of Uzbekistan grew by more than 5 million people

Almaty. August 12. Silkroadnews -Population of Uzbekistan grew by more than 5 million people over the period from 2000 to 2013, reports the Uzbek Telegraph Agency (UzTAG), citing data from the Interstate Statistical Committee of the CIS.
According to the recently updated report population in 2000 mid-year population was 24 487.7 thousand. In 2013 - 29 993.5 thousand people.
The population of other CIS countries is growing too, but not as rapidly as in Uzbekistan. In particular, the number of Azerbaijanis in 13 years increased from 8,032.8 thousand tol 9356.5 thousand, Kazakhs - from 14 901.6 thousand to 16 909.8 thousand, Kyrgyzstan - from 4 874.7 thousand to 5 663.1 thousand,  Tajiks - from 6 128.5 thousand to 7 987.4 thousand people.
According to the agency, the growth rate of the Republic of Uzbekistan occupies the first place in the CIS.
