For five months Tajikistan decreased petroleum products import volumes by five thousand tonnes

Almaty. June 24. Silkroadnews – For five months of 2016 Tajikistan has decreased petroleum products and lubricants import volumes by five thousand tonnes, Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reported on Friday.

“In January-May 2016 Tajikistan imported about 417.8 thousand tonnes of petroleum products and lubricants, which is five thousand tonnes lower to compare with the same period of last year,” data by the state’s statistics agency shows.

This year the cost of one tonne of petroleum products made $468, while in the same period of last year it was equal to $570.

For the period specified the volume of gasoline imports amounted to 79.4 thousand tonnes, which is 28.5 thousand tonnes less compared to the same period of last year. The average cost of one ton of gasoline made $462.

Diesel fuel was imported in the amount of 85.5 thousand tonnes at $503 per tonne, while in the same period of 2015 the amount imported was 24.3 thousand tonnes higher.

As for volumes of petroleum products and lubricant supply into Tajikistan, Russia ranks the first making 62% of the supply market. 24% of the total import volume of petroleum products come from Kazakhstan and 12.6% – from Turkmenistan.

Arrangement on indicative fuel balance between Tajikistan and Russia was signed in late 2015. According to the document, this year Tajikistan shall receive 830 thousand tonnes of petroleum products.

The volume of liquefied natural gas supplies for the reporting period amounted to 138 thousand tonnes. The cost made $453 per tonne.
