For interfering with the election process Kyrgyzstan to imprison for up to 2 years

Almaty. November 18. Silkroadnews – Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic in the third reading approved a draft law “On amendments to some legislative acts of the Kyrgyz Republic on the election process”, KyrTAG writes.

According to the document, the bribery of popular votes by a candidate for presidency of the Kyrgyz republic, parliament or local council, a candidate for other elective bodies of state power and local self-government, as well as their close relatives, representatives in the election commissions, authorized representatives, agents, observers or other persons acting on their behalf will be punished by a fine in the amount from 1000 to 3000 calculation indices or imprisonment for a term of 3 to 5 years.

Besides, for hindering citizens from free exercising of their electoral rights or rights to participate in the referendum, violating the secrecy of voting, as well as hindering the work of election commissions, referendum commissions or the activities of the election commission member, the Referendum Commission shall be punished by a fine of 200 to 300 calculation indices or imprisonment for up to 2 years.

Interference with the use of official position in exercising of its authorities by the Election Commission shall be punished by a fine of 200 to 500 calculation indices or by imprisonment for up to 3 years.
