Beijing. April 4. Silkroadnews - In the near future, the first vice-president of Afghanistan, General Abdul Rashid Dostum is going to return home from Turkey, the Afghan Telegraph Agency (AfTAG) reports citing the sources from the close aides to the General.
Senator Azim Qoyash, one of the close aides to Dostum, told the media representatives the general will return home after an agreement with the government.
According to Qoyash, over the past three months the general has repeatedly participated in negotiations with representatives of the Afghan authorities, and recently personally discussed plans for his return to Kabul in a telephone conversation with President Ashraf Ghani.
The senator also mentioned that Dostum wants to reclaim his authority as first vice president and wants government to close the Ahmad Eshchi case. The post of the first vice-president was vacant since he has left the country, with this the general had not been resigned, which allows him to reclaim his position.
To remind, General Dostum left Afghanistan last May and did not return to the country since then. The Vice President arrived in Turkey allegedly to receive a course of treatment, yet his arrival came amid a major scandal. Dostum became a figurant of the case of the abduction and illegal detention of the ex-governor of Jawzjan province Ahmad Eschchi.
