Freight transit from Afghanistan via Kyrgyzstan excludes transit of dangerous weaponry – MinTransCom

Bishkek. May 28. Silkroadnews – Intergovernmental agreement on provision of freight and personnel transit via Kyrgyz air space excludes transit of dangerous substances and weaponry. This agreement between the Republic of Kyrgyzstan and the UK came into being, as Coalition forces started preparing to leave Afghanistan. This was reported by Kyrgyz Secretary of State for Transport and Communications Maksatbek Dyikanov at the working session of relevant parliamentary committee.
“The conditions that would threaten security of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan were excluded within the framework of the agreement. Moreover, the list of highly dangerous freight that cannot be transited through the territory of Kyrgyzstan has been enclosed. Nuclear, chemical and biological weapons of mass distraction, military weapons, explosive substances etc. have made it to that list”, the State Secretary said.
Upon it consideration, the draft of the agreement has been approved by the committee on transport and then forwarded to the committee on international affairs.
