Almaty. November 5. Silkroadnews - French citizen was sentenced to 2 years in prison for illegal crossing of the state border between Kazakhstan and China, reports the press service of the Almaty Regional Court.
"Matthew Raymond Augusts Dumont made ​​a crime under Art. 330 ch. 1 (intentional illegal crossing of the state border of the Republic of Kazakhstan) of the Criminal Code. Sentenced to imprisonment for 2 years, to be served in a penal colony",- said in a statement on Tuesday.
The court found that the convict is not a resident of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has no permanent place of residence and occupation in Kazakhstan.
The verdict has not entered into force.
