Gas production at Iranian field South Pars reached 555 million cubic meters per day

Beijing. January 24. Silkroadnews - Gas production at the South Pars field in Iran reached 555 million cubic meters a day, the Iranian Telegraph Agency (IrTAG) reported referring to the Tehran Times newspaper.
According to the managing director of Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC) Mohammad Meshkinfam, in charge of the field development, gas production at the South Pars gas field in Iran amounted to 555 million cubic meters per day, the report said.
The POGC managing director said that $69 billion had already been invested to develop the giant field, and taking into account the infrastructure investments, the figure reached $72 billion.
South Pars supplies 70% of the gas consumed inside the country. The giant gas field that Iran shares with Qatar in the Persian Gulf is estimated to contains a significant amount of natural gas, accounting for about 8% of the world’s reserves and about 18 billion barrels of condensate.
