Germany will grant 54.5 million euros to develop the social sector of Tajikistan

Almaty. April 7. Silkroadnews - Germany will provide a grant of 54.5 million euros for the purposes of Tajikistan’s social sector development, Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reports.

“For the next two years the German government will allocate a grant of 54.4 million euros for the development of the social sector in Tajikistan,” said the minister of economic development and trade of the Republic Nematullo Hikmatullozoda at the meeting of the lower house of parliament.

This amount will be mainly directed on the development of public health, regional development, private sector of the national economy, affordable housing construction.

“The amount specified will be allocated during 2016-2017 within the framework of the agreement between the governments of Tajikistan and the Federal Republic of Germany on financial and technical cooperation signed in Dushanbe on February 11, 2016,” the minister said.
