Hainan to attract 2 million foreign tourists by 2020

Beijing. June 25. Silkroadnews - China’s southern island province of Hainan has developed a three-year action plan to make the island a world class tourist destination, People’s Daily reports.
According to the plan, the island will introduce a preferential policy to attract foreign tourists with an annual increase of 25% between 2018 and 2020.
By 2020 the number of foreign tourists in Hainan is expected to exceed 2 million people.
In 2017, more than 1.1 million foreign tourists visited Hainan, up nearly 50% year on year, the report reads.
By the end of 2017, Hainan had 57 international air routes, by 2020 it planned to bring this number to 100.
In May, the island province increased the number of countries to offer visa-free travel for visiting Hainan to 59.
