Hassan Rouhani won the presidential election in Iran gaining 57% of the vote
Almaty. May 22. Silkroadnews – Iran’s current president Hassan Rouhani won the presidential election in Iran.
According to Iranian media, Hassan Rouhani garnered the support of 23.549 million voters (57% of vote). His arch-rival, the former Prosecutor General Ebrahim Raisi received 15.786 million votes (38.5%). The former minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mostafa Agha Mirsalim was supported by 478 thousand voted, former minister of industry Mostafa Hashemi-Taba received 215 thousand votes.
A total number of ballots processed amounted to 41.220 million.
The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported the peaceful situation during the elections.
