Almaty. October 25. Silkroadnews - The head of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan and international news agency KazTAG Seitkazy Matayev serves a sentence for the crimes he did not commit, Tamara Kaleyeva, acting chairman of the board of the union of journalists of Kazakhstan, said, the Kazakh Telegraph Agency (KazTAG) reports.
She noted, the union of journalists continues its work and the board of the organization expressed a vote of confidence in S. Matayev.
“The chairman of the board of the Union of Journalists of Kazakhstan S. Matayev serves a sentence for the crimes he did not commit. The charge is based on double standards on judging the state order performance. Thus, in 2010-2012 the state orders were accepted without any problems, but then, apparently, someone’s instructions have been received, I do not know what it could be tied with, I can only guess. Immediately the reports were recounted according to norms that had never been applied to anyone before,” Kaleyeva told “Kazmedia Ortalygy” on Wednesday.
She specified, earlier the state order performance was measured by a number of square centimeters of materials in the media, thus, “KazTAG” news agency used to overfulfill the targets set. Yet suddenly the reports on the state order fulfillment were recounted taking into account the genres of publications, according to the new standard, which has not been used to anyone else.
“The new norms said the news agency had to release at least 5-7 analytical publications per day. This is obviously an impossible condition, not only for KazTAG, but for any media. And who will read them and who will write them, if a journalist can give one serious analytical article a week? What then should our regular staff be like? That is, the norms applied used to be absolutely unacceptable for any media,” T. Kaleyeva explained.
