Heads of China and Vietnam reached a consensus on the South China Sea issue

Almaty. November 14. Silkroadnews - The heads of China and Vietnam reached a consensus on the issue of the South China Sea, Australian television channel SBS reported.
“The Communist leaders of China and Vietnam reached a 'consensus' on handling the contested South China Sea, Chinese state media reported,” the agency said.
Reportedly, the Chinese and Vietnamese sides “reached an important consensus in accordance with leaders of the two parties and countries, to appropriately manage maritime issues, steadily advance all forms of maritime cooperation including joint development and jointly strive to uphold peace and stability in the South China Sea.”
No details on the agreement have been disclosed.
As report reminded, China claims almost the whole territory of the strategically important South China Sea, through which it passes $5 trillion merchant goods ships per year. The sea territory is also known for its alleged huge oil and gas fields reserves.
