Heads of Iran and Qatar discussed the security situation in the Middle East
Almaty. June 19. Silkroadnews - A telephone conversation was held between Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and the Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Khalifa al-Thani, informs the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG) on Friday.
Particular attention of the two leaders was paid to combating extremism and terrorism in the Middle East. At the same time the sides agreed that the countries of the region should actively cooperate in this matter.
The head of Iran stressed the need for coordinated action of all regional countries to maintain stability and security in the region. At the same time, he called for the establishment of the unimpeded channel for delivery of humanitarian assistance to residents of combat zones, especially the needy population of Yemen.
H.Rouhani also expressed Iran's readiness to develop multifaceted ties with Qatar in all areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.
