Honorary Consulate of Kazakhstan opened in Melbourne

Almaty. August 7. Silkroadnews - Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan was opened in Melbourne, told KazTAG citing the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"On August 6 this year, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Singapore and Australia Erlan Baudarbek-Kozhataev and Speaker of the House of Representatives of Australia, Bronwyn Bishop officially opened an honorary consulate of Kazakhstan in Melbourne, Victoria," - said in a statement on Thursday.
The opening ceremony was also attended by the leaders of the upper and lower houses of parliament of Victoria, Bruce Atkinson and Christine Fife and several other prominent members of political, academic and business circles of this country.
Ambassador E.Baudarbek Kozhataev handed patent of honorary consul to Australian businessman Andrew Ferneyhough, who is also the founder of the Kazakh community in Australia and the President of Kazakhstan-Australian Chamber of Commerce.
According B.Bishop, Kazakhstan is an example for the rest of the world as a country that voluntarily renounced nuclear weapons and developing the peaceful atom, as well as built a society of ethnic and religious harmony.
