Almaty. November 29. Silkroadnews - Hunan provincial court sentenced a resident of Taiwan to 5 years in prison for inciting subversion of State power, China Daily reported.
“A court in Central China has sentenced Taiwan resident Lee Ming-che to five years in prison for inciting subversion of State power,” the report said.
It is noted that Lee, 42, was prosecuted along with a resident of mainland China, 38-year-old Peng Yuhua, who received a seven-year sentence for the same crime.
Both have been deprived of their political rights for a period of two years.
Lee and Peng reportedly set up an illegal organization to overthrow the Chinese government and its political system, creating a serious threat to national security and social stability. Both said they would not appeal the verdict.
