IMF projects a 2% growth of GDP in Kazakhstan in 2017

Almaty. February 8. Silkroadnews – Growth of gross domestic product (GDP) of Kazakhstan is expected to reach 2% in 2017, representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) report.

“The ambitious program of government reforms is expected to raise the economic growth to 2% in 2017 with further increase in the medium-term. The non-crude sector growth is projected to amount to 4% by 2021”, IMF data stated.

Inflation rate is forecasted to slowdown and be kept within the target corridor of 6-8% as set by the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

“There is still some uncertainty remains due to Kazakhstan’s dependence on commodity prices, a situation within the financial sector can further hamper the economic growth”, the statement says.
