Astana. August 21. Silkroadnews - Ambassador of Kazakhstan to China Shahrat Nuryshev discussed the expansion of the "Kazakhstan-China International Logistics in Lianyungang" with Mayor of Beijing Zhao Syaotszyan, informed the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
"During the meeting the sides discussed the state and prospects for cooperation in the development of transit-transport potential of the two countries. Sides exchanged views on the implementation of the New Economic Policy "Nurly Zhol" and the Chinese initiative "One belt one way", as well as the further development of multimodal terminal sea port in Lianyungang", - said the Foreign Ministry.
It was noted that currently the freight turnover between Almaty and Lianyungang is 100 thousand containers per year, with weekly running of 5 trains.
In 2015 it is planned to increase the number of container traffic up to 250 thousand. It is expected to increase the capacity of the port and expansion of the "Kazakhstan-China International Logistics in the city of Lyanyungan".
Stressed the need to implement the agreements reached at the level of heads of state, to increase two-way investment and achieve the objectives of increasing cargo container trains plying on the route Almaty-Lianyungang and transit through Kazakhstan to other countries of Central Asia and Europe.
