Almaty. January 8. Silkroadnews - In 2016 Tajikistan’s economy will grow by 4.8%. Such a forecast was published in the World Bank report, Tajik news agency (TajikTA) reports.
“Tajikistan’s economy will grow by 4.8% in 2016, with further stable growth up to 5.5% in 2017 and 2018”, a new report of the World Bank is quoted as presented in Washington.
The report notes that the Russian foreign direct investment amount for a significant share of direct foreign investments in Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
As for the economy of the Russian Federation, it can run into 0.7% decrease this year.
In general the research shows the decline of the Russian economy will have a significant impact on growth in Belarus, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan. The consequences of the crisis in the Russian economy will be less significant for Georgia and Kyrgyzstan, and will have no impact on the economy of Moldova and Uzbekistan.
The report authors note, such countries as Armenia, Moldova, Tajikistan and Ukraine get significant amounts of money trasfer from Russia that support a source of income for many families. Due to the economic downturn in Russia and leaps in exchange rates, the money transfer flows are forecasted as fallen sharply in 2015: more than 15% in Ukraine, 30% in Tajikistan and 59% in Uzbekistan (the World Bank report of 2015).
The organization pointed out the global economic growth was 2.4% in 2015. The report highlights “risks of possibility of disordered economic activity slowdown in one of the largest emerging economies” (meaning the economy of China) as one of the biggest threats to the global economy.
