In 2017 Kazakhstan plans to export 7 billion cubic meters of gas to China

Almaty. May 26. Silkroadnews – JSC “KazTransGas” plans to export 7 billion cubic meters of natural gas to China, the chairman of the board of directors Kairat Sharipbayev said, KazTAG reports.

“We are working with the gas export to Russia, Kyrgyzstan, at the end of 2016 and in early 2017 we start “The Great transit” to China. (...) Next year we plan to export 7 billion cubic meters of gas to China,” he said at the briefing held on Thursday.

The announcement by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on funding two projects of JSC “KazTransGas” in the amount of 294 million euros was reported earlier.

It was also explained the funds shall be directed to reconstruction and repair of the underground gas storage “Bozoi”, with the amount of 52 million euros to implement the projects on modernization, reconstruction and new construction of gas distribution networks for the Mangistau and Aktobe regions’ settlements.
