"The draft law on combating terrorism states that no legal entity or individual can fabricate or spread false information about the facts of terrorism, to report or disseminate information about terrorist activities, because this may result in a repetition of others. No one, except the news agencies with the approval of the press services of the competent authorities to combat terrorism can report or disclose data on field staff, hostage or retaliatory actions of the authorities", - says the publication on Tuesday.
It is noted that the draft law introduces a separate ban on the dissemination of information on terrorism in social networks.
The new bill also defines the procedure for the introduction of a state of emergency and use of emergency measures in the event of terrorist attacks using pathogens or the threat of infectious diseases.
So far, China has does not a separate law on countering terrorism, the relevant provisions were part of the criminal and criminal procedural law and the law on emergency situations.
It is reported that a bill on third reading is under consideration in the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China.
