In Tajikistan the share of agriculture in GDP is 20%

Almaty. April 6. Silkroadnews - In Tajikistan, the share of agriculture in gross domestic product (GDP) is 20%, reported the Tajik news agency (TajikTA) on Monday.
"The agricultural sector of Tajikistan has a strong foundation for economic development. This sector employs 53% of the total republic number of employees. The share of agriculture in GDP is 20%",- said the publication with reference to the report of the World Bank (WB).
According to the document, this sphere has a strong foundation for economic development. It is noted that the government is committed to the ongoing reform of the agricultural sector, including the resolution of the cotton crisis, accelerating the implementation of land reform, as well as providing freedom for farmers and increase the diversification of agriculture.
According to experts, there are attempts to achieve greater profitability of investment in agriculture, particularly for the production of goods for export by improving access to markets and empower of farmers authority in the field of land use rights, improving access to credit and the means of production, as well as providing them with autonomy in economic management .
