In Turkey, detained 30 people on suspicion of having links with Islamic State
Almaty. October 27. Silkroadnews - Turkish police detained on Tuesday at least 30 people suspected of ties to an extremist group "Islamic State" (IS), reported the agency TASS.
"The anti-terrorist operation is still going on in the administrative center of the province of Konya," - said in a statement on Tuesday.
The agency recalled that the day before during a similar raid in Diyarbakir, in the south-east of the country, were destroyed seven militants, another 12 were arrested. However, in a shootout with the terrorists killed two police and four were wounded.
Turkish security forces are taking strong measures to combat militants of IS after October 10 attack in Ankara, which killed more than 100 people. Local investigators believe on the connection of IS to the attack.
