Almaty. April 23. Silkroadnews - India plans to develop fields of Iran in the Persian Gulf, reported the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG) on Thursday.
"The largest state-owned petroleum corporation of India ONGC is interested in the development of offshore deposits of Iran in the Persian Gulf. In particular, we are talking about the gas field Farzad B, production of which will be carried out by ONGC through its subsidiary ONGC Videsh Ltd", - says the publication.
For this, Tehran was recently visited by high-level delegation from India, which included representatives of the company ONGC Videsh Ltd, the ministries of finance and oil of this Asian country, as well as Mangalor refineries and petrochemical plants.
During the talks, the Indian side expressed interest in investing in Iran's oil and gas industry, taking into account the expected cancellation of international sanctions against the Islamic Republic by the end of this year.
Proven reserves of Farzad B, which was discovered by Iranian experts in 2012 are estimated at more than 614 billion cubic meters of natural gas and gas condensate, of which 362.5 billion cubic meters are recoverable reserves.
Representatives of the two countries also discussed the possibility of financing by the Indian companies carbamide plant near the port Chabahar with design capacity of 7 million tons per year.
