Institute of the Commissioner on children’s rights is planned to be established in Kazakhstan

Astana. July 1. Silkroadnews - Chairman of the Committee for the Protection of Children's Rights of the Ministry of Education and Science Manshuk Abdykarim considers the possibility to introduction of the Commissioner for Children's Rights.
"Aiming to improve the situation of children in Kazakhstan, to ensure their rights it neccessary to introduce the post of the Commissioner for Children's Rights" - said M. Abdykarim to KazTAG on Tuesday.
According to her, after the entry into force of the Code of RK "On Marriage (Matrimony) and Family", reports and information about adopted children, consular registration, approved by Order of the Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan from March 20, 2012, reports on the life conditions, education and health status of adopted children by foreigners are regularly received through accredited agencies.
Totaly from 1999 to 2012 the number of adopted children in Kazakhstan amounts to 47,421 children. Among which kazakh citizens adopted 38,068 children (80.3%), out of which - 21,472 child are under 3 years old.
Over the same period, foreign relatives adopted 547 children (1.2%), foreigners - 8806 children (18.5%).
The largest number of adoptions are from U.S. - 6609 children, Spain - 757, Belgium - 426, Canada - 222, France - 209.
