International Development Association to allocate $14 million to develop a number of Kyrgyz cities

Almaty. November 11. Silkroadnews – International Development Association (IDA) will provide financial support to the government of Kyrgyzstan, the appropriate draft law “On ratification of the agreement on financing “The urban development project”” between KR and IDA was approved by the deputies in the third reading.

According to the draft law, the IDA will allocate grants and loan funds to the government of Kyrgyzstan, to be directed at improving municipal services, energy efficiency and earthquake resistance of urban infrastructure on a pilot base in the cities of Sulukta, Kirby, Balykchy and Toktogul.

The total amount required for the project is $14.4 million, including $12 million of credit funds and the rest provided in the form of grants.
