Investment education will be introduced for primary and middle school in China

Almaty. September 14. Silkroadnews – Investment education will be introduced for primary and middle school students in China, the Chinese newspaper Global Times reported.
“The China Securities and Regulatory Commission (CSRC) has launched a pilot project to include investment courses in primary and middle schools, universities and vocational schools in more than 20 regions, including Shanghai, Southwest China's Sichuan Province and Northwest China’s Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region,” the report said.
The project to involve more than a million people is also said to include preparation of finance textbooks and special training of around 10,000 teachers.
It is reported that the finance classes were introduced in 116 primary and secondary schools in Shanghai in 2011, and more than 30 schools in Guangzhou in Guangdong Province of South China introduced financial planning lessons in September 2015.
“Pictures of middle school finance textbooks have been circulating online, which introduce the candlestick chart, a type of financial chart used to describe price movements of securities, derivatives and currencies,” the agency says.
It is noted that CSRC also opened educational centers for investors. The first 13 national educational centers for investors on securities and futures were opened in 2016, the issue of opening additional centers is being considered as well. In addition, 83 provincial educational centers for investors have been created, including 56 physical centers serving more than 100,000 people, and 27 Internet centers have already trained more than five million people.
