Iran and Afghanistan attach great importance to development of Chabahar Port
Almaty. September 7. Silkroadnews – Carrying out a joint meeting the Afghan Minister of Trade and Industry Homayoun Rasa and Akbar Turkan, Iranian President's chief adviser, emphasized the need for development of Chabahar port, Afghan News Agency (AfTAG) reports.
The reports in the Iranian media stated the parties have noted that the development of the port will facilitate the trade relations between two countries.
According to the Iranian President's advisor, the construction of Chahabar-Zahedan-Mashhad railway shall provide the port city with access to railroad. He also added, Iran is ready to cooperate with Afghanistan in the field of mining.
In his turn, the Afghan minister said that this port will enable Afghanistan to get access to the big Indian market. He also called to expand the cooperation between two countries and start production of Iranian goods in Afghanistan.
