Iran and Azerbaijan will conduct joint development of Caspian fields
Almaty. October 14. Silkroadnews - Tehran and Baku agreed to conduct joint research activities to develop oil fields in the Caspian Sea, informs the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG).
Corresponding memorandum to cooperate was signed between the Research Institute of Petroleum Industry of Iran and Oil Research Center of Azerbaijan.
In particular, it meant carrying the specialists of the two countries on the development of geological prospecting of hydrocarbon deposits in the Caspian Sea, as well as the rational use of mineral resources and protecting the environment.
According to the Deputy Director of the Research Institute for International Affairs Amirabbas Husseini, the paper focuses on the issues of environmental safety during all activities in the Caspian Sea.
He also said that the countries of the Caspian region has developed several integrated programs whose primary purpose is the rational use of natural resources of the Caspian Sea for their domestic needs for energy sources.
