Iran and Kazakhstan agreed on cooperation in the field of agriculture

Almaty. May 8th. Silkroadnews - During the visit to Tehran a Kazakh delegation headed by chairman of the committee of international and interregional cooperation Kuanyshbek Alenov met with a Director General of the Iranian Department of International Affairs of the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad Fathi, informs the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG).
"It seems important to establish cooperation between the two countries in the production of agricultural products, in particular wheat and oilseeds. We are convinced that those local companies that will cooperate with the Iranian side in terms of industrial activity, will achieve success in their business",- said H.Fathi.
In this regard, he called on the Kazakh side to pay special attention to the possibility of organizing the supply of various agricultural products from Iran to the markets of Kazakhstan.
In addition, he noted that the competent authorities of the two countries should exclude a long chain of intermediaries, which are present in the process of procurement of wheat and grain from Kazakhstan farmers.
At the same time H.Fathi stressed that further development of the Iranian-Kazakh cooperation in the field of agriculture can be a key factor to bring together the two brotherly peoples, as well as significantly raise the level of mutual trade.
The head of the RK delegation confirmed the readiness of the Kazakh side to strengthen the development of multifaceted cooperation with Iran, including in agriculture.
"Agricultural production in Kazakhstan is characterized by very high quality and we intend to work with the Iranian side in matters of supply of wheat and oilseeds without intermediaries", - said K.Alenov.
On the issue of Iran's imports of agricultural products in Kazakhstan, he noted that Mangistau region of Kazakhstan is connected with Iran via the Caspian Sea, which has certain advantages in terms of increasing trade between the two countries.
During the meeting, the Kazakh side has also expressed interest in establishing cooperation with Iran in areas such as fisheries, poultry farming and breeding of cattle and small cattle.
